{Christmas Styling At Our Home}

Yesterday was one of my favorite days of the year, the day we get to {style} the house with {Christmas} decor!  We were up early, turned on the Keurig and made some gingerbread coffee, unloaded the boxes from the storage room and as soon as we took off the lids, the Christmas spirit leaked everywhere!  We usually wait to decorate until after Thanksgiving, but since we will be leaving early to travel to the East Coast for the holidays, we decided to put everything up early this year [four days early].

With that being said, I would like to invite you into our home and take you through the step-by-step process of how I like to decorate.  I will show you my favorite colors, decor and how I like to place things so they stand out [I may be a little too obsessed with this].  It may have taken all day [I promise the tour won't!], but I sure got by with a little help from my man friend!

Happy Sunday and...welcome to our Home! :)

Please come in...

Welcome!  Please join me upstairs!
I absolutely LOVE garland!  I think it can transform any banister or railing!

Welcome to our Family/Dining Room!  Let's start with the couch... I am an avid believer in symmetry.  So when I buy pillows, they always come in pairs!  That way both sides of the couch are balanced.  Oh, and make sure to buy a festive throw to tie all of the different pillows together!
Left side of our sectional.
Right side.

I may be a little too obsessed with decor, but I honestly think that it can {make} or {break} a room!  I think even the smallest detail can transform a room.  This is also my thought process while I plan for a {Par.Tay}.  Whether it is the smallest event, or the biggest, the details are what truly matter!
Decor used all over the house!
Can you tell I love Christmas Red? ;)
I can't wait to fill the frames with pictures from past holidays [fail on my part that I didn't have them already]!

Time for a refill on coffee...it's time to put up the tree!!!  Gold, red and silver are my favorite Christmas colors.  I think they are the perfect colors to brighten a room and they definitely stand out on a green tree!  If you're unhappy with your colors, or don't think that a certain room has enough {sparkle}, try adding one of these colors.  From as plain as can be, to a sparkly, golden, red and silver Christmas tree!
"Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how much pleasure you bring to me!"

Meanwhile, here is what was going on outside...
We decided to go for the old fashioned style lights this year and let me tell you, he did a fabulous job putting them up!  Keep scrolling to see them glowing! :)
The hired help was pretty good looking! ;)

What do you say we head back inside?  Before I finished the tree, I decided to decorate the mantle,  kitchen and add a few touches to the dining table.  The mantle is definitely another area where I believe in symmetry.  The main reason is because your mantle is likely to be your focal point when you walk into your living/family/great room!  I like to place our stocking holders in the middle and then build up from there.  Example: Decide the height of your stocking holder then buy a candle holder that is just a bit taller and then lastly, buy a taller nutcracker.  Make sure to buy each item in pairs!  If you need fillers, low candle holders always look great or more Xmas decor [I recommend all filler decor to be shorter than your stocking holders].
Our fabulous dining set from IKEA!  The white chairs = perfect for all year around, but especially for the holidays!
The fire was going as I decorated the mantle and our table.  Bert was sure cozy!
It's always fun to change the towels and such in the kitchen, but I also love to add a few little decorations to give it that extra spice!

I had an extra set of stockings and holders so I decided to surprise Nick and set them up in his man cave! ;)

Then just a few minutes later [or several], I was done!  Nick was finished as well, which meant our day full of Christmas styling was over.  Kind of depressing. :/  BUT, it was such a fun day and our home is styled and very cozy!!!  Cheers to the second Christmas in the Leichsenbruch home...we even added something under the tree this year! ;)
A sparkly tree skirt adds that extra touch {a cat does too!} and if you get done decorating your tree and it doesn't look full enough, try to add fillers!  They are easy to add and cheap!
We did it, babe! {We've got our love to keep us warm}

When we finished, it was still quite light out, so we waited to capture the outside until we got back that evening.  Boy am I glad we did because it was absolutely breathtaking!  It may just be because I am a huge fan of Christmas Vacation and Clark Griswold, but I could never get sick of looking at Christmas lights!
I would recommend these lights to anyone!  So fun and colorful!
So {thankful} to have such an amazing man in my life!

Well there you have it!  Just some insight on how like to decorate for Christmas!  Thanks for visiting our home and remember this quote this holiday season as you're {decorating} or {celebrating}, "The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family wrapped up in each other." - Burton Hills

XOXO
